Media Swamp: New Media in the South brings together artists whose practices move through the South. The Media Swamp functions here as both geography and metaphor—across video projections, physical media installations, and a screening room of looping single-channel works. The exhibition unfolds as an immersive environment where time-based and computational processes echo throughout the gallery. The work in this exhibit examines the South as a dynamic region where cultural memory, technological infrastructure, and ecological conditions are intertwined. Some works engage archives, found footage, and scanned materials as sites for reanimation and transformation, while others examine parallels between human, digital, and hybrid bodies through processes of public ritual and digital rendering.
The exhibition was organized in collaboration with TSA GVL members: Kiley Brandt, Rebecca Forstater, Dana Potter, Michael Webster, and Rachel Lin Weaver. Exhibition documentation by Michael Webster.
